Nearest point, not nearest entrance

The distances go from your selected position to each park’s representative point. A large park can have an entrance much closer than that point, or a road trip much longer than the straight line. Open the official park page to choose an entrance and check access before traveling.

Which parks are included?

Only designated national parks are included. Monuments, recreation areas and state parks are left out. Kings Canyon and Sequoia share a representative point in the source, so a tie is shown rather than an invented difference.

Check your starting point

A city search uses a point inside that city. For a more useful starting point, use device location or your coordinates. The data page records the park list and distance method.
