Why no ZIP area may appear
Census boundaries here are generalized to about 55 meters, so a narrow gap can appear between two neighboring ZIP areas, including in a city center. When that happens, a nearby outline may be shown as “Nearest ZIP area.” It is not a confirmed containing area. Some points have no nearby mapped ZIP area at all. Use USPS ZIP Code Lookup with the full address for mail, including when this field is blank.
