Why a VPN or mobile network can show another place
A network estimate points to the connection that reaches a website. With a VPN, that can be an exit server. Mobile carriers and company networks can route traffic through another place. A city name here does not mean your phone is in that city.
Which result should I use?
Use this check to understand a website’s regional guess. For a county field or coordinates, use device location or a point you enter. Do not use an IP estimate for mail or emergency directions. A missing city stays missing; it is not replaced by your device’s time zone.
If the estimate is missing or disagrees
The provider may only return a country, have no record, or be temporarily unavailable. Different services can disagree because they use different network records. Check whether a VPN or work connection is active before comparing estimates. Privacy details explain this optional outside request.
